Tennessee Licensed Medical Records Auditor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Records Technician (Coder) Auditor.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate provider documentation education related to the Veterans Equitable Resource Allocation (VERA) program
• Conduct re-reviews of codes abstracted for patient encounters to ensure compliance with VERA coding requirements
• Assist facility staff with documentation requirements and provide technical support regarding coding and regulations

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• U.S. Citizenship and proficiency in spoken and written English
• One year of creditable experience in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical coding
• Associate's degree in health information technology/management or completion of an AHIMA approved coding program
• Certification through AHIMA or AAPC (e.g., Apprentice/Associate Level or Mastery Level Certification)
• Equivalent combinations of experience and education may qualify for the position
