Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Physician Coder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign and validate appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to patient charts using coding classification systems
  • Review outpatient medical documentation to ensure proper coding, billing, and compliance
  • Utilize coding software and guidelines to research and assign necessary codes for medical necessity
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
  • One to three years of experience in medical record coding in an acute care setting
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • AHIMA or AAPC certification required (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC)
  • Functional knowledge of EMR, encoder, and CDI tools
  • Experience with 3M360 software required
