Tennessee Licensed Patent Director

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Director, Patents - Life Sciences.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation, filing, and prosecution of domestic and international patent applications in life sciences
• Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, validity, and infringement analyses to guide R&D and executive teams
• Collaborate with scientists and researchers to support the patenting process from initial disclosure through issuance

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school required
• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD preferred) in a life sciences discipline preferred
• 5+ years of experience in patent prosecution and IP counseling in the life sciences sector
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and international patent laws and procedures
• Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred
