Job Summary

To support efficient coding practices, the part-time Tennessee Licensed Senior Coding Specialist will review and assign diagnostic and procedural codes for professional and outpatient facility encounters while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop efficient workflows to prioritize complex coding tasks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Utilize coding classification systems to ensure accurate code selection and address documentation gaps affecting code assignment
  • Provide guidance and support to coding staff on complex scenarios and stay updated on coding regulations and guidelines
Required Qualifications
  • 4 years of relevant work experience in coding
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification as a Coding Specialist from AHIMA or AAPC
  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and documentation
  • Experience with compliance and regulatory requirements in coding practices
