Tennessee Licensed Underwriting Manager

Job Summary

Leading a high-performing team, the remote Tennessee Licensed Underwriting Manager will manage daily production and quality metrics, drive team development, and make sound credit decisions in a well-established mortgage bank.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of retail residential underwriters while managing production and pipeline turn times
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales and operations to ensure efficient file flow and resolve exceptions quickly
• Drive ongoing training and calibration sessions to align the team with agency guidelines and internal credit policies

Required qualifications

• Five or more years of recent experience in retail residential mortgage underwriting leadership
• Deep understanding of conventional agency guidelines (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) and government products (FHA, VA)
• Hands-on proficiency with Encompass LOS
• Proven leadership experience managing or mentoring underwriters
• Authorization to work in the United States
