Test Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely within the United States, the freelance Test Engineer will support automated testing initiatives for modern applications and services, focusing on designing and maintaining test coverage while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test coverage for core services and applications
• Lead test scenario creation and develop functional test strategies for new features
• Collaborate with engineering teams to investigate bugs and resolve issues across environments

Required qualifications

• Strong proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience with automated testing frameworks like Mocha and UI automation tools such as Playwright
• Hands-on experience testing MQTT or similar Pub/Sub interfaces
• Familiarity with cloud-based environments and containerized deployments, including Docker
• Experience working within Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
