Job Summary
To support the Ob/Gyn Department, the remote Certified Coding Specialist I/II/III will review medical documentation to assign and sequence CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10CM codes, and modifiers for inpatient/outpatient encounters, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and departmental procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Review and resolve coding edits in the work queue in a timely manner
- Accurately assign and sequence codes while ensuring compliance with applicable guidelines
- Perform charge entry for professional services and maintain coding quality and productivity standards
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of related coding experience required
- Texas Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or equivalent certification required within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge of ICD-10 CM and CPT coding conventions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to maintain a database
