Texas Insurance Verification Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure timely insurance verification and financial clearance, the full-time Texas Insurance Verification Specialist will provide insurance benefit information to patients, physicians, and hospital staff in a remote capacity while residing within Texas for occasional on-site meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform financial clearance of patient accounts by verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, ensuring timely notifications and authorizations
• Coordinate the submission of clinical documentation from physicians to payers for authorization needs
• Document systems according to Insurance Verification guidelines to assure accurate and timely reimbursement

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Less than 1 year of healthcare or customer service experience preferred
• Prior authorization experience is highly preferred
• Ability to understand and adhere to payer guidelines by plan and service type
• Excellent data entry and computer navigational skills
