Job Summary

A company is looking for an Animal Surgical Training Specialist in the Animal Resource Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and evaluate research and ARC staff on laboratory animal survival surgery techniques
  • Develop and design training materials and curriculum, including hands-on instruction and assessments
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory laws and guidelines related to laboratory animal care and training
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in science, education, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in training methods and techniques
  • 5 years of experience with rodent procedures, including 2 years in aseptic survival surgery
  • Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) or veterinary technician license required upon hire
  • Certification by the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) is preferred
