Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Texas Licensed Clinical Coding Specialist will review medical records, assign accurate Evaluation and Management codes, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines to support billing and reimbursement processes.

Key responsibilities
  • Review medical records and assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and NCCI codes
  • Communicate effectively with coding team members and management regarding coding issues and training needs
  • Maintain compliance with coding guidelines and initiate physician queries for unclear documentation
Required qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • 5 years of clinical coding experience for complex or multi-specialties, or 3 years with a preferred degree
  • RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, or other relevant coding certifications upon hire
  • Experience in Evaluation & Management coding, oncology coding, and EPIC
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in a related healthcare field
