Job Summary

To ensure accurate and compliant coding of patient encounters, the full-time, remote Texas Licensed Clinical Coding Specialist will review medical records, assign appropriate clinical codes, and collaborate with coding professionals and clinical partners while supporting billing and reimbursement processes.

Key responsibilities
  • Review medical records and assign accurate Evaluation and Management CPT, ICD-10 CM, and other relevant codes
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding coding issues and training needs
  • Maintain compliance with coding guidelines and participate in professional development activities
Required qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • 5 years of clinical coding experience for complex or multi-specialties, or 3 years with a preferred degree
  • Active certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC, or COC upon hire
  • Experience in Evaluation and Management coding and familiarity with EPIC
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in a related healthcare field
