Job Summary
To ensure accurate and compliant coding of patient encounters, the full-time, remote Texas Licensed Clinical Coding Specialist will review medical records, assign appropriate clinical codes, and collaborate with coding professionals and clinical partners while supporting billing and reimbursement processes.
Key responsibilities
- Review medical records and assign accurate Evaluation and Management CPT, ICD-10 CM, and other relevant codes
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding coding issues and training needs
- Maintain compliance with coding guidelines and participate in professional development activities
Required qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- 5 years of clinical coding experience for complex or multi-specialties, or 3 years with a preferred degree
- Active certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC, or COC upon hire
- Experience in Evaluation and Management coding and familiarity with EPIC
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree in a related healthcare field
