Texas Licensed Clinical DRG Auditor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Clinical DRG Auditor who is responsible for performing DRG validation reviews of medical records to ensure accuracy in coding and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform audits of medical record documentation to determine the accuracy of diagnosis and procedure codes
• Assist management in training new Coders or Clinical DRG Auditors through monitoring and feedback
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and complete required continuing education units (CEUs) for licensure and certification

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN licensure in the U.S. and state of primary residence
• At least one relevant coding certification (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, CCDS, CPC)
• 3+ years of clinical experience in an inpatient hospital setting
• 2+ years of MS DRG/APR DRG coding or auditing experience with expert knowledge of ICD-10 coding guidelines
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills and typing, including Microsoft Office and virtual meeting tools
