Job Summary
To support a national healthcare organization, the remote Texas Licensed Clinical Pharmacist will conduct clinical reviews for prior authorization of specialty medications, manage inbound calls from physicians and patients, and collaborate with healthcare teams while working on a contract basis.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborates with Technicians and Nurses to process authorization requests and answer clinical questions
- Coordinates timely communication of case decisions to healthcare professionals and patients
- Handles inbound phone calls and escalations regarding Prior Authorization
Required qualifications
- Active pharmacist license in Texas in good standing
- 2+ years of clinical experience with specialty medications or clinical review of prior authorization requests
- Experience using MS Office and other Windows-based applications
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining professional knowledge of drug and disease states
