Texas Licensed Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist III - Outpatient Hospital Based Clinic.

Key Responsibilities

• Code retrospective outpatient accounts using ICD-10 CM and CPT in compliance with coding guidelines
• Identify appropriate diagnoses and procedures to support medical necessity and coding edits
• Review accounts in denials work queues and make recommendations to the Coding Manager

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of acute hospital-based coding experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Relevant certifications such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, COC, CPC, or CIRCC
• Expert knowledge of coding guidelines and practices
• Experience in a remote environment preferred for PRN Coders
