Texas Licensed Communication Assistant
Job Summary
To support communication access for the deaf and hard of hearing community, the full-time and part-time Texas Licensed Communication Assistant will facilitate telephone calls using relay processing equipment, ensuring high-quality service while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Accept and place relay calls for consumers, ensuring accurate and confidential communication
- Type and read messages aloud, translating between ASL and conversational English as needed
- Maintain TRS quality standards for accuracy and speed while reporting any technical issues
Required qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to type at least 60 words per minute with 95% accuracy
- Must pass an essential skills assessment administered by recruiting staff
- Availability to work varied schedules, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
