Job Summary
Building and leading a 24/7 control room organization, the full-time Texas Licensed Control Room Manager will establish and oversee the Integrated Operations Center in Austin, Texas, ensuring the safe and compliant operation of utility-scale solar, wind, battery storage, and gas generation assets.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and scale the Integrated Operations Center, recruiting and training NERC-certified operators
- Lead real-time operations of the control room, ensuring compliance with dispatch instructions and operational directives
- Serve as Incident Commander during critical events, coordinating emergency responses and operational decision-making
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in utility-scale power generation or centralized control room operations
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing control room personnel or continuous operations teams
- NERC Reliability Coordinator (RC) or Generation Operator (GOP) certification required; ERCOT Operator Certification preferred
- Experience with utility-scale solar, wind, battery energy storage systems, or gas generation assets
- Strong understanding of real-time grid operations and operational risk management
