Job Summary
Supporting the engineering team in a fully remote capacity, the full-time Texas Licensed Design Engineer will design and develop electrical systems for utility-scale solar energy projects, focusing on optimizing solar field layouts and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed designs and layouts for solar field projects, including electrical, structural, and mechanical aspects
- Perform load analysis and energy output calculations to optimize solar array efficiency
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure designs meet project goals, timelines, and budget constraints
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in electrical design engineering focused on solar energy projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and relevant industry standards
- Proficiency in electrical design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or PVsyst
- Relevant certifications, such as Professional Engineer (PE) or NABCEP Solar PV Installer certification, are highly desirable
