Job Summary

Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of clinical coding, the full-time Remote Inpatient Coding Compliance Auditor will conduct regular coding audits, provide feedback to coding staff, and develop educational sessions while adhering to coding standards and guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular coding audits and monitor coding accuracy, providing continuous feedback to staff
• Develop and coordinate educational sessions for coding staff on documentation and accurate coding practices
• Design audit tools and conduct trend analyses to identify patterns in coding practices

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Certification as a Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), RHIT, RHIA, CCA, or CCS from AHIMA or AAPC required
• Four years of relevant hospital coding or auditing experience required
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines
• Working knowledge of reimbursement systems and coding regulations
