Job Summary
Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of clinical coding, the full-time Remote Inpatient Coding Compliance Auditor will conduct regular coding audits, provide feedback to coding staff, and develop educational sessions while adhering to coding standards and guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct regular coding audits and monitor coding accuracy, providing continuous feedback to staff
- Develop and coordinate educational sessions for coding staff on documentation and accurate coding practices
- Design audit tools and conduct trend analyses to identify patterns in coding practices
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certification as a Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), RHIT, RHIA, CCA, or CCS from AHIMA or AAPC required
- Four years of relevant hospital coding or auditing experience required
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines
- Working knowledge of reimbursement systems and coding regulations
