Job Summary

Verifying insurance policy benefits, the full-time Texas Licensed Insurance Specialist will obtain authorization and precertification for patients in a remote setting following in-person training, ensuring accurate insurance information is documented and communicated effectively.

Key responsibilities:

• Verify insurance policy benefits for new and returning patients with various carriers
• Document all pertinent insurance information and communicate with patients regarding their fiscal responsibilities
• Identify special policy clauses or pre-existing conditions and ensure appropriate referrals are obtained

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
• At least 6 months of related experience required
• Knowledge of managed care contracts and insurance coverage interpretation
• Ability to educate patients and families on insurance issues
• Must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas
