Texas Licensed Lead Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Lead Underwriter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications to classify and assess risks, determine acceptability, and establish pricing
• Respond to inquiries from brokers and maintain documentation according to departmental guidelines
• Cultivate relationships to facilitate the underwriting process and assist in the training of other underwriters

Required Qualifications:

• 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent education/experience
• Studies toward attaining relevant insurance designations such as RPLU, CPCU, AU, or CIC
• State-specific insurance license preferred based on specialty area
• Experience in underwriting with defined authority and business development responsibilities
• Ability to adhere to underwriting guidelines and company policies
