Job Summary

Managing a pipeline of conventional loans, the full-time Texas Licensed Mortgage Underwriter will review loan files for credit, capacity, and collateral compliance with company and investor standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite conventional loans, including Non-Agency and complex reviews, ensuring adherence to established turn times
• Identify document deficiencies and request additional information from clients as needed
• Assist colleagues in interpreting underwriting guidelines and provide updates on loan statuses

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in the mortgage industry, specifically in residential mortgage loan underwriting
• High school diploma required; advanced knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and industry standards
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products and Encompass
• Advanced communication skills, both spoken and written
