Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder I (Hospital Outpatient) to work full-time during the day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret health record documentation for code assignment
  • Assign and sequence ICD10-CM and CPT codes according to guidelines
  • Maintain coding proficiency and complete required training and education
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or completion of ICD 10 and CPT coding courses
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Technology or Administration is acceptable
  • 1 year of experience in acute care hospital outpatient coding preferred, but not required with certain educational qualifications
  • Certification as CCA, COC, RHIT, CPC, or RHIA required within 12 months
  • Proof of PPE/internship hours may be required for certain educational paths
