Job Summary
To support a leading healthcare company, the remote Texas Licensed Pharmacist will conduct clinical reviews for prior authorization of specialty medications, collaborating with healthcare professionals and managing inbound inquiries during a contract role with a schedule from 7 am to 10 pm CST.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborates with Technicians and Nurses to process authorization requests and collect necessary clinical data
- Coordinates timely communication of case decisions to physicians, health plans, and patients
- Handles inbound phone calls and escalations from physicians or patients regarding prior authorization
Required qualifications
- Active pharmacist license in Texas in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience with specialty medications or clinical review of prior authorization requests
- Experience using MS Office and other Windows-based applications
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining professional knowledge of drug and disease states
