Job Summary
To support a national healthcare organization, a Texas Licensed Pharmacist will work remotely on a contract basis, conducting clinical reviews for prior authorization of specialty medications while managing inbound calls from healthcare professionals and patients.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborates with Technicians and Nurses to process authorization requests and answer clinical questions
- Coordinates timely communication of case decisions to physicians, health plans, and patients
- Handles inbound phone calls and escalations regarding prior authorization issues
Required qualifications
- Active pharmacist license in Texas in good standing
- 2+ years of clinical experience with specialty medications or clinical review of prior authorization requests
- Experience using MS Office and other Windows-based applications
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining professional knowledge of drug and disease states
