Job Summary

Working remotely, the Lead Specialty Intake Patient Access Specialist will manage the intake process for referrals, verify patient benefits and eligibility, and provide training to junior team members while ensuring timely processing of patient information and authorizations.

Key responsibilities

• Processes orders from referral sources and assesses patient needs upon arrival
• Verifies patient benefits and eligibility for requested services, obtaining necessary prior authorizations
• Trains new employees and collaborates with team members to refine intake processes

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in an intake department within specialty pharmacy or comparable healthcare services
• Experience working with healthcare insurance and evaluating options for effective decision-making
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records
