Texas Licensed Scoring Associate

Job Summary

To support the evaluation of teacher candidates, the part-time Texas Licensed Scoring Associate will evaluate responses to test questions, participate in scoring discussions, and work remotely from San Antonio, TX.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Texas teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards and engage in consensus scoring activities
• Recognize and discuss various types of bias and implement strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring

Required qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with and proficiency in sign communication
• Minimum of three years of experience in the education of the deaf and hard of hearing or ASL instruction
• Residency in the state of Texas
• Compliance with ethical obligations under SBEC 230.21 (g)
• Agreement to recuse from scoring candidate responses where served as the interviewer
