Job Summary
Seeking a Texas Licensed Senior Plans Examiner, this full-time remote position will manage non-structural plan reviews for compliance with building codes and standards across commercial, industrial, and residential projects while providing technical direction and interacting with municipal clients.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive plan reviews to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations
- Attend preconstruction conferences and provide technical assistance to inspection personnel
- Address and resolve complaints from clients, applicants, and contractors while maintaining regular communication with municipal staff
Required qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience as a Commercial Plans Examiner with a municipality or third-party firm
- ICC Plans Examiner certification is required; ICC Trades Plans Examiner and other relevant certifications are preferred
- Extensive knowledge of local building codes and construction procedures
- Proficiency in permitting software and digital plan review tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
