Job Summary
Managing a Texas workers' compensation defense caseload, the full-time remote Texas Licensed Senior Staff Attorney will independently handle all phases of cases, collaborate with claims professionals, and provide legal advice while maintaining strong professional relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Independently handle all phases of Texas workers' compensation defense, including hearings and legal documentation
- Prepare and present witnesses and evidence before Administrative Law Judges
- Provide timely legal advice to claims partners and insureds, maintaining clear communication on case status and recommendations
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- 5+ years of legal practice experience with significant handling of complex Texas workers' compensation cases
- Active license to practice law in Texas and member in good standing of the applicable Bar Association
- Experience with Texas DWC hearings and drafting DWC forms
- Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload independently and prioritize competing deadlines
