Texas Licensed Substitute Teacher

Job Summary

To support Texas Virtual Schools, the part-time hourly Texas Licensed Substitute Teacher will deliver engaging online instruction, follow established lesson plans, and maintain a positive virtual classroom environment when regular instructors are unavailable.

Key responsibilities

• Step in as a substitute instructor for virtual classes, ensuring continuity of learning
• Review and follow provided lesson plans while delivering live or pre-recorded lessons
• Facilitate class discussions, manage classroom behavior, and assess student work

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Valid, unrestricted Texas teaching certificate with K-12 endorsement
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience using Google Workspace in a professional or academic setting
• Access to a secure, high-speed internet connection (minimum 25 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload)
• Experience in a remote work environment is preferred
