Texas Licensed Transmission Engineer

Job Summary

To support the growth of renewable energy initiatives, the full-time Texas Licensed Transmission Engineer will conduct transmission planning power flow studies, develop interconnection application models, and automate data analysis processes, working remotely or in a hybrid environment based in Houston, TX.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitates transmission planning power flow studies and stability studies using various modeling software
• Develops and supports interconnection application models for renewable energy and battery storage projects
• Automates data analysis processes using Python, SQL, and MS Excel to enhance study efficiency

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering
• Power flow modeling experience with software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, and PowerWorld
• Understanding of electricity market policies related to interconnection and transmission planning
• Experience working with ISOs or RTOs
• Familiarity with utility-scale renewable energy operations, including wind, solar, and energy storage
