Job Summary
To support a growing team, the full-time Texas Licensed Underwriter will assess and analyze insurance risks, determine coverage terms, and manage relationships with brokers while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and price renewals, new business, and endorsements according to underwriting guidelines
- Review and authorize binding authority requests, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with brokers to negotiate terms and establish premium rates
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Business Administration or Risk Management
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Binding Authority and Insurance Underwriting with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a Master's degree
- State P&C and/or surplus line licenses required
- Preferred certifications include Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
- Strong understanding of risk evaluation and policy language
