Job Summary
Managing complex client accounts, the full-time Texas Licensed Underwriting Consultant will underwrite, rate, bind, and service employee benefits accounts while collaborating with leadership and mentoring junior underwriters in a remote or hybrid environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Underwrite accounts to ensure compliance with guidelines and consult on complex risks
- Quote accounts and present timely proposals to brokers, ensuring efficient processing of bind requests
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of underwriting guidelines and departmental procedures, documenting all communications in the Agency Management System
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; preferred in a related field
- 5 years of experience with a carrier required; 5-7 years preferred with a medical carrier
- Knowledge of funding mechanisms, including fully insured and self-insured plans
- ASA Designation preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
