Job Summary
A company is looking for an Underwriting Counsel to provide title insurance underwriting expertise for Texas real estate transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate title searches and communicate underwriting requirements to stakeholders in real estate transactions
- Evaluate risk and exposures to determine the acceptability of business and set title insurance premiums
- Prepare and present education seminars on real estate law and title issues while acting as a subject matter expert
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree and admission to the Texas Bar
- Typically requires 3+ years of experience in real estate law with demonstrated title knowledge
- Familiarity with underwriting standards and guidelines
- Ability to work independently with limited oversight
- Experience in leading projects and providing guidance to less experienced team members
