Job Summary

A company is looking for an Underwriting Counsel to provide title insurance underwriting expertise for Texas real estate transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate title searches and communicate underwriting requirements to stakeholders in real estate transactions
  • Evaluate risk and exposures to determine the acceptability of business and set title insurance premiums
  • Prepare and present education seminars on real estate law and title issues while acting as a subject matter expert
Required Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor degree and admission to the Texas Bar
  • Typically requires 3+ years of experience in real estate law with demonstrated title knowledge
  • Familiarity with underwriting standards and guidelines
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight
  • Experience in leading projects and providing guidance to less experienced team members
