Job Summary
Supporting Texas operations, the full-time Texas Licensed Underwriting Counsel will evaluate risk, underwrite residential and commercial transactions, and provide guidance to internal teams and customers to ensure accuracy and timely closings in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze and approve title policy exceptions, endorsements, and coverage requests while recommending solutions for complex title issues
- Identify risk trends and support process improvements to reduce claims exposure and enhance consistency across files
- Interpret title searches, commitments, and related documentation, while providing guidance to less experienced team members
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred
- Typically requires 5+ years of related work experience
- Strong working knowledge of Texas real property concepts and insurability standards
- Ability to analyze moderately complex to complex problems using technical experience and judgment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain decisions clearly and professionally
