Job Summary

Leading a team of underwriters, the full-time salaried Texas Licensed Underwriting Manager will manage day-to-day operations, ensure compliance with mortgage guidelines, and drive team performance in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage underwriters to ensure adherence to mortgage loan underwriting guidelines and provide necessary training
• Oversee day-to-day tasks and conduct underwriting reviews to minimize company risk while resolving loan approval issues
• Lead hiring, coaching, and performance management efforts to develop an efficient and effective underwriting team

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Residential Mortgage Loan Underwriting or a related field
• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• Previous leadership experience is required
• Advanced knowledge of mortgage loan products, regulatory compliance, and underwriting guidelines
• Intermediate to advanced experience with mortgage banking technology and systems, including Encompass (LOS)
