Job Summary
Responsible for determining admission status and care level recommendations, the full-time Texas Licensed Utilization Management RN will conduct initial reviews for inpatient, observation, and outpatient admissions remotely, working from 6:45am to 3:15pm with rotating days, weekends, and holidays.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct initial admission reviews for various patient types according to established criteria
- Ensure proper authorization and pre-certification processes are met for all admissions
- Provide consultation to medical staff and facilitate communication regarding the utilization review process
Required qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Five years of inpatient clinical nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
- One year of Utilization Management experience
- Texas RN license upon hire
- Case management certification within 12 months of hire preferred
