Job Summary

To enhance the effectiveness of water utility training, the full-time Texas Licensed Water Instructor will assist in delivering specialty courses, utilizing adult learning theories for online and classroom instruction, and maintaining technical competence while working remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Assist in training and delivering various specialty skilled and semi-skilled courses within the Water Program
  • Utilize adult learning theories to maximize learner success and course effectiveness
  • Maintain technical competence and assist in creating or updating curriculum content as needed
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
  • Texas Class "B" Water license (or higher) and Texas Class "B" Wastewater license (or higher) or Wastewater Collection II or III
  • 60 hours of classroom instructional experience or completion of approved instructor training courses within 6 months of employment
