Job Summary
Owning day-to-day network operations, the contract-based Texas Network Operations Engineer will manage and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, wireless, and remote access services in a hybrid environment across Austin and San Antonio, ensuring security and reliability while driving continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot network services including LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall, DNS, and DHCP
- Maintain a secure network environment through disciplined segmentation, access control, and configuration management
- Coordinate with agency staff, service providers, and carriers to resolve issues and ensure service availability
Required qualifications
- Deep hands-on experience with enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and internet connectivity
- Fluency in routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and firewall management
- Experience with network segmentation and least-privilege access design
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as Palo Alto, Juniper, Cisco, Aruba, or Meraki
- Certifications such as Network+, CCNA, or equivalent are a plus
