Thin Film Engineer

Job Summary

Joining a dynamic team, the full-time remote Thin Film Engineer will develop and optimize optical thin film coating designs, create manufacturing plans, and provide engineering support while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, design, and optimize optical thin film coating designs to meet customer specifications
• Implement strategies to enhance efficiency and improve product quality using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, QA, EHS, and R&D teams to integrate innovative solutions and drive process improvements

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline
• 0-3 years of engineering experience in manufacturing process development or optical coating technologies
• Experience operating metrology equipment for characterizing thin films, such as spectrophotometry and interferometry
• Familiarity with SPC, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing principles
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
