Trade Compliance Attorney

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Trade Compliance Attorney with EAR & BIS Regulation Experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on compliance with U.S. import and export regulations, focusing on the BIS Connected Vehicles Rule
• Develop and implement internal compliance policies and programs, and advise on product and technology classification
• Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to identify and mitigate compliance risks early in the product lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of combined law firm and in-house experience focused on export controls and trade compliance
• Experience interpreting and applying evolving regulations related to trade compliance
• Ability to translate complex legal requirements into clear, business-ready guidance
• Strong judgment and independence in a collaborative environment
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Michigan or California as needed
