Transmission Line Designer

Job Summary

Working remotely with occasional office visits, the full-time Transmission Line Designer will utilize and expand design skills in a multi-disciplined team environment, focusing on the development of transmission line drawings and designs using AutoCAD and 3D design software.

Key responsibilities

• Develop transmission line plans and profile drawings, including hardware details and material lists
• Create master sketches to scale, ensuring accurate specifications and dimensions while collaborating with engineering staff
• Assist project team members on site walkdowns to gather information for design projects and interface with vendors and contractors

Required qualifications

• Associate's Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with relevant drafting coursework or technical experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD with 8+ years of experience in transmission line design/drafting
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans and drawings
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong understanding of engineering science and technology applications related to technical design
