Job Summary
Leading the engineering and design of complex transmission line projects, the Journey Level Transmission Line Project Engineer will operate in a hybrid capacity, collaborating with engineers and project managers while performing technical analyses and developing project proposals.
Key responsibilities
- Resolve engineering problems using standard solutions and independently plan work under general direction
- Conduct engineering analyses, develop conceptual designs, and prepare technical documents including specifications and reports
- Collaborate with contractors and engineering consultants, and represent the utility company before government agencies for assigned projects
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited U.S. curriculum or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of cumulative engineering and design experience
- Experience in electrical transmission line engineering (115 kV-500 kV)
- Strong familiarity with GO 95, NESC, and PG&E transmission line standards
- Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and related transmission line design software
