Job Summary
Seeking a full-time remote Transmission Planning Engineer, the role involves managing the planning side of the product, providing expertise on studies related to Dynamic Line Rating (DLR), and collaborating with software engineers to translate planning needs into product requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on the application of DLR and related ratings within power flow and planning practices
- Review study assumptions and results for physical plausibility based on experience in transmission planning
- Collaborate with software engineers to define product requirements and represent planner perspectives in engagements with RTO/ISO and utility counterparts
Required qualifications
- 3-6 years of experience in transmission planning at a transmission-owning utility, RTO/ISO, or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Hands-on experience with base case validation and contingency screening
- Working knowledge of NERC TPL-001, FAC, and MOD-032 standards
- Ability to review and interpret PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSLF, or similar study outputs
