Job Summary

Bringing real utility planning judgment to the team, the full-time remote Transmission Planning Engineer will manage the planning side of the product, providing expertise on studies, assumptions, and report validity while collaborating with software engineers to enhance product requirements.

Key responsibilities
  • Advise on the application of DLR, AAR, CLR, and SLR-bound ratings in power flow and planning practices
  • Review study assumptions and results for physical plausibility, leveraging experience from utility or RTO/ISO environments
  • Partner with software engineers to translate planning expertise into actionable product requirements
Required qualifications
  • 3-6 years of experience in transmission planning at a transmission-owning utility, RTO/ISO, or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with base case validation and contingency screening
  • Working knowledge of NERC TPL-001, FAC, and MOD-032 standards
  • Comfortable reviewing and interpreting PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSLF, or similar study outputs
