Transportation Underwriter

Job Summary

To support a growing Commercial Lines Underwriting team, the full-time Transportation Underwriter will manage agency profitability and production objectives by underwriting new business, renewals, and endorsements, while working in a hybrid or remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new commercial business, renewal policies, and endorsements to meet profitability targets
• Evaluate individual risks and provide mentoring support to junior underwriters
• Develop action plans and communicate effectively with agents to promote underwriting profit

Required qualifications

• Five years of experience in commercial transportation underwriting
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field
• Completion of Associate in Underwriting program and CPCU coursework
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience in mentoring and guiding junior staff
