Transportation Underwriter
Job Summary
To support a growing Commercial Lines Underwriting team, the full-time Transportation Underwriter will manage agency profitability by underwriting new commercial business, renewal policies, and endorsements, while working in a hybrid or remote capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Underwrite new commercial business and renewal policies to meet agency profitability and production objectives
- Evaluate individual risk exposures and assist in corrective actions to ensure underwriting profit
- Provide guidance and mentoring support to junior underwriters and maintain communication with agencies
Required qualifications
- Five years of experience in commercial transportation underwriting
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field
- Completion of Associate in Underwriting program and CPCU coursework
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on detail
- Experience in mentoring and providing support to underwriting staff
