Transportation VP

Job Summary

Strategically leading the transportation network, the remote VP of Transportation will manage small parcel, freight, air, and ocean logistics while focusing on cost reduction, faster delivery, and enhanced customer experience through effective network design and carrier negotiation.

Key responsibilities

• Set and execute the multi-year strategy for the transportation network, translating it into actionable quarterly plans
• Design and optimize the carrier network to reduce costs and improve delivery times in response to changing volumes and rates
• Build and develop a high-performing team, establishing clear priorities and empowering team members to manage day-to-day operations

Required qualifications

• At least 3 years in a senior leadership position within transportation logistics
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in high-volume small parcel shipping across multiple carriers
• Proven track record of building and retaining strong teams
• Deep understanding of carrier invoicing, surcharges, and accessorials
• Experience with zone skipping and postal sharing programs
