Job Summary

A company is looking for a Trauma Registrar to manage trauma data collection and maintain confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and abstract trauma data into the Trauma Registry database for eligible patients
• Maintain confidentiality of registry data and provide it for research purposes as needed

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• 1 year of coding experience or experience with trauma registry databases in a healthcare setting
• Pass the AAAM's Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) course within 1 year of hire
• Complete a trauma registry course covering abstraction, data management, reports, data validation, and HIPAA within 1 year of hire
• Participate in an ICD-10 course or refresher every five years
• Accrue at least 24 hours of trauma-related continuing education during the verification cycle
