Job Summary
Supporting the Federal Aviation Administration, the full-time remote UAS Specialist will provide subject matter expertise in the review and procedural approval process for Unmanned Aircraft Systems accessing the National Airspace System, while coordinating with various stakeholders and conducting feasibility analyses.
Key responsibilities
- Provide expert support for applications for Certificates of Waiver or Authorization (COA) for UAS access to the National Airspace System
- Coordinate and review military UAS COA requests and provide guidance on FAA and Department of Defense operations
- Conduct analysis and research on UAS activities and requirements, contributing to operational mission support and documentation
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute for a degree
- Extensive knowledge of the National Airspace System and FAA Directives
- Experience in data gathering, analysis, and report development
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management applications
- Organizational skills for maintaining documentation and awareness of general documentation systems
