UI Designer Contractor
Job Summary
Working on a hybrid contract basis, the UI Designer Contractor will focus on developing and implementing a design system by creating reusable UI components, building documentation, and integrating AI-assisted development tools to enhance collaboration between design and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and refine core UI components to ensure reusability across products
- Build component-level documentation, including usage guidelines and accessibility notes
- Configure AI-assisted tools to streamline the connection between the design system and the codebase
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a design-related field or equivalent professional experience
- 4+ years of UI or product design experience, with hands-on experience in building a design system component library
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including design tokens and component variants
- Experience using Claude and/or Claude Code in production workflows
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility standards as applied to UI components
